LIKE GOD ON EARTH

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." Genesis 1:26

Of all of God's creation, He created man like Him so we could function and live like Him. Our living is never to be at the mercy of any situation but for us to be in charge of all. Just as a lion does not beg to roar nor does a dog beg to bark, we are not to beg to live our full potentials in Christ.

God has us made like Him in authority. Speaking about what God's authority's like, Ps 33:9 says "For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast." As God's word produces result, our words are supposed to because we are redeemed to be kings to God (Rev 5:9-10) and where a king's word is, power is available to execute it (Ecc 8:4).

Also, Job 22:28 says "Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee," and Mark 11:23 says when you speak to any mountain, they'll obey. You are like God in authority and are expected to use it! Speak and command.

You see, God is like a mirror that when you look at Him, you see your actual, God ordained self. The truth is, in understanding who we are, we must understand who God is. This is because Gen 1:27 says "God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."

Not only has God made us like Him in authority, He has also made us like Him in position. Ps 115:16 says "The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men." The earth, together with all its wealth and resources, has been given to us to dominate (Gen 1:26).

Your authority covers everything - visible and invisible because you are seated with Christ in the heavenly places "Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come" (Eph 1:21; 2:6). Your position is higher than the devil's!

THE COMMAND TO GIVE
Text: Luke 6:38
By: Adeaga O. Favour

Giving is a covenant platform for receiving. It is a way to translate our desired expectations into manifestation. Luke 6:38 says when we give, it shall be given unto us in a greater measure. God's payment system involves first investing through giving among other things.

There are three ways you can project your giving which are upward, horizontal and downward. When you give upward, you go upward and when you give downward, you secure your position and immune yourself to going downward while being of blessing to those in your level is a horizontal way of giving.

Any man who desires result must avail himself of these channels. A farmer who sows automatically qualifies for a harvest. Your giving commitment at the moment may come with pains but the gains at the end cannot be quantified.

REFLECTION FOR TODAY:
Giving is the key to opening your channels of receiving.

PRAY:
Father, please let my giving produce bountiful harvests.

THE UNFAILING FAITH 2
Text: Hebrews 11:1-3
By: Adeaga O. Favour

To get Scriptural results, we need to go beyond just quoting the Scriptures to acting the Scriptures because it is the Scripture acted on that gets the result out. This is why James 1:25 says the doer of the word is the one that gets blessed.

For example, if the Scripture says you are healed and you actually believe it, why are still thinking of drugs or lying down for people to pity you, you've got to rise and act as though you are healed. After getting the command to come, Peter jumped out of the boat and actually walked on water!

What you've not acted out is what you've not seen. When you speak to any situation and don't doubt but believe the result is showing up, Jesus said you'll get the result, simple. Let's stop framing as if the word does not work, when we play our part, God commits to playing His own part.

REFLECTION FOR TODAY:
That the word didn't work for you doesn't mean it doesn't work, it only means you missed out something along the way, search and fix it!

PRAY:
Father, I receive grace for results in Jesus' name.

THE UNFAILING FAITH 1
Text: Hebrews 11:1-3
By: Adeaga O. Favour

Faith is key to Christianity, all of the things we do in the Kingdom is based on it. With it, for examples, we are saved (Eph 2:8); we receive our miracles (Matt 9:22); justified (Rom 5:1) and even connect God (Heb 11:6) among other things.

Faith is not just in the confession but in the expression, we don't just talk faith, we act faith. James 2:26 says "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." Every person that ever got listed in the Hall of Faith according to Hebrews 11 put their faith to work and didn't just talk it.

Until we get on the go for God, the signs promised according to Mark 16:17-18, for example, will never find expression. Unfortunately, we have so many talking Christians but few acting ones and not until we act what we talk or claim to believe, we will never see the manifestation.

REFLECTION FOR TODAY:
If the devil can't stop you from acting faith, he definitely can't stop your result.

PRAY:
Father, grant me the boldness to act by faith from henceforth in Jesus' name.

HOW TO GET MORE FROM GOD
Text: Luke 16:10-12
By: Adeaga O. Favour

Asking God for more things is good but knowing whether we actually qualify for it or not is key. God has no problem giving more to us, His challenge is often with how we handle the little He has committed into our hands in the first place.

God's principle of giving more is dependent on our faithfulness with what we currently posses. He does not entrust more to unfaithful stewards because His resources are too precious to be wasted. When you handle the little you have well, He give more.

It is foolishness to think when we get more then we'll do better and so, allow what we currently have to suffer. Nothing gets better until we have learnt to handle what we presently have faithfully. The same principle that helps us guides handle the little effective is what we need to handle more, so failure in managing the little points to failure in handling the much.

REFLECTION FOR TODAY:
Faithfulness in handling the little we have qualifies us for more from God.

PRAY:
Father, please forgive me in whatever way I have been unfaithful in Jesus' name.

REDEFINING YOURSELF 3
Text: John 1:19-23
By: Adeaga O. Favour

Lack of understanding of personal identity is what makes people want to be like others. Everyone is created in a unique way and with a unique assignment, so the best way to define yourself is in relation to what you are created to fulfill.

One important thing to note about yourself is that you are not a problem looking for solution but a solution looking for problems to solve. Jesus called you the light of the world and the salt of the earth (Matt 5:13-14), both of which are used to solve problems.

It's time you began to look past what you were or are to what you can and should be. A revelation understanding of who God is gives you the proper definition of who you are since you are created in His image and after His likeness. Who God is in heaven is what He has made you to be on earth.

REFLECTION FOR TODAY:
The more you know God, the better you understand whom you are created to be.

PRAY
I refuse to live below God's standard for my life henceforth in Jesus' name.

REDEFINING YOURSELF 2
Text: Acts 9:10-15
By: Adeaga O. Favour

It is easy for one who has failed several times to be called a failure by the world's definition but God does not see such like that. God does not address us based who we are but who we can be and what He has created us to be. This is why He could look at a murderer like Moses and call him Israel's deliverer.

If we are to describe Jesus' disciples based on what they did after he was taken, we probably would have called them traitorous disciples but when Jesus would call them, he called them fishers of men. Any man who defines you based on what you have done is only making the biggest mistake.

Once saved, your old life is passed. You become as a new born without a past (2Cor 5:17). This is why God could look at you and say "ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people," 1 Pt 2:9. Learn to always celebrate who you are now in Christ.

REFLECTION FOR TODAY
There is no future in your past, the cross crushed it and gave you a new beginning.

PRAY:
Thank You Lord for who You have made me to be in Christ.

REDEFINING YOURSELF 1
Text: 1 Peter 2:9-10
By: Adeaga O. Favour

How do you see yourself? Quite a lot of people have allowed their sense of judgement of themselves to be controlled by the world system while in actual fact, God did not design our life to be subject to worldly opinions and perception about us but solely by His view of us.

Because of the situation he was passing through, it became so difficult for Gideon to accept heaven's definition of him - a mighty man of valour. He gave God different reasons why the definition shouldn't be until God had to reconfigure his perception. What definition do you also hold about yourself?

Our present situations do not have to define us, God's word is full of a variety of great views heaven carry about us. It does not matter what you have done wrong and how terrible they may be, if God says you are a new creature, it means your past matters no more!

REFLECTION FOR TODAY:
Until you discover who you truly are in Christ, you will never live as God truly designed you to be.

PRAY:
Lord, please help me to understand who I am in You in Jesus' name.

DON'T BREAK THE HEDGE
Text: Ecclesiastes 10:8
By: Adeaga O. Favour

By redemption, every child of God, whether a baby of matured, have been given power that naturally positions them above the devil, all principalities and powers (Luke 10:29). Also, that you are born of God automatically makes you an overcomer (1Jn 5:4), and divinely secured from all attacks (Ps 91).

However, it becomes an aberration when you begin to fear or loose to what should fear or tremble at your presence. And the reason is not farfetched. Pro 28:1 says "The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion." While sin gets you afraid, righteousness emboldens you.

More so, every act of obedience secures your hedge (Job 1:1,10) while disobedience exposes you to the devil's attack. In Exo 15:26, Moses told the Israelites that by the hedge of protection around them, if they obey, none of the sicknesses and diseases that befell the Egyptians would come upon them.

REFLECTION FOR TODAY:
God's responsibility is to secure you but yours is to maintain the security.

PRAY:
Lord, if I have broken the hedge around me in any way, please forgive me and rebuild in Jesus' name.

SECURE YOUR FUTURE 2
Text: Proverbs 22:6
By: Adeaga O. Favour

Every parent is first the role model to their children, whatever they do determines what the children learn. You can’t be telling your children something while you are doing the opposite, they will soon discover and think pretence is part of life thereby making them to pretend as well.

Whatever you have not seen in your child is what you have not inscribed in such. The first point of learning comes from home, it is a failure on the parents’ part when they push this responsibility to the child’s teacher in school or elsewhere.

Ps 32:8 says “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” Training your children is about instructing, teaching and guiding them in the way to go. This means after you have told them what to do, you watch them do it.

REFLECTION FOR TODAY:
Paying the price today is securing a rest for yourself tomorrow.

PRAY:
Father, let my children know and walk in Your ways all their days in Jesus’ name.
